A Pool Party!

I have been so beyond excited to take Emmry to her first trip to a pool. I didn't know where we would go but I just knew I wanted to take her. Thank goodness Aunt Alyssa invited us to spend the day with her and Miss Makenna at their pool.(Miss Makenna Martin)

The pool was freezing... at least to Emmry. She was not a fan at all. I put her feet in and she screamed and cried and just carried on and on. She fell asleep in my arms and together, we laid out in the summer sun; imagine it... Laying out in 80+ weather, a baby on you, her fuzzy hot blanket and no breeze! Yeah, it was hot!Can You See Emmry's Tooth??She is definitely a fan of being outside in her pack-n-play in the shade. Hopefully, the next time we visit the pool... she will actually like it!

Mr. & Mrs. Eric Owens

Words cannot describe how beautiful and picture-perfect this wedding was. I was beyond amazed. Breanna, (Todd's daughter) married Eric Owens on May 23, 2009 at Pine Log. The day didn't start off so good considering Todd and I locked BOTH sets of keys in our car. Thankfully, after a lot of hard work, Chase's girlfriend's dad unlocked it for us! (THANK YOU)
Breanna was stunning. I don't think I can recall a time where she has ever looked so breath-taking. She is a very simple girl and everything about her, fit her just perfectly. Seeing her come down the aisle with Todd brought tears to my eyes.
Eric, I think was a tad nervous. He kept looking around to see if he could see Breanna coming. Once he saw her, his face just lit up. For them, I know it was their fairytale... their PERFECT fairytale.Might I add that our little princess, Miss Emmry was so precious. She was so very well behaved. The wedding was a success. We ate, cut the cake, danced, laughed, and had a blast all at the last time. AND... Todd and I shared our FIRST dance, in public. (We only slow dance in our house, by ourselves.) I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it!! Todd looked so handsome too! I am so proud to have him as my husband and I am blessed to have Breanna and Eric as apart of my family!
Enough with all of the typing, I'll let the pictures do the talking!!

My life changed with the sound of one little precious cry. I had no idea the amount of love and joy tis nine months would bring to me. I had no idea that nine months could fly by so quickly in what seems to be a blink of an eye. But here I am and my daughter is nine months old. NINE MONTHS OLD! I never imagined it to ever be true or to ever feel this good.I honestly have tears in my eyes because I am just staring at her right at this very moment. She is glowing. She has beautiful brown hair and the most gorgeous blue eyes I have ever seen (other than her daddy's). Her skin is just like feeling silk and the way she smiles at me just melts my heart to the fullest extent. I love the way she scrunches her nose when she smiles and the way she looks just sitting in a diaper. I love the squeal she does when she gets overly excited and the way she wrestles herself to sleep at night. The most precious sound in the morning is her voice over the baby monitor; she just ooo's and ahh's.
I still can't believe she is mine. Maybe I never will. Maybe that is something "mothers" will never understand; just how one man and one woman make the most precious baby(s) ever. It seems so simple like baking a cake. But for me, it was different. Mine was more like baking a cake without an oven. But I over-came my struggles and her she is... perfect, breathing, smiling, giggling, and as happy as any baby could be. I have come to believe that no matter what, every pregnancy, every birth and every baby are pure miracles. These nine months have been the best of my life and I look forward to many, many, many more.

Aunt Maymie Gets Married (May 16, 2009)

Jaymie or shall we say "Aunt Maymie" finally got hitched yesterday afternoon. It was a gorgeous ceremony. The reception could have used a little help but the wedding was beyond perfect. For starters, Jaymie was outstandingly beautiful. I was speechless to see her all put together; the hair, the make-up, the jewelry, and whoa... the dress. The wedding started at 5:00 pm at our church, Adairsville Church of God. Jaymie was so nervous and once the time got closer, I began to get nervous too. Emmry was her flower girl. And I do believe that was the most well-behaved Emmry has ever been. She was pulled into the church and down the aisle by Hunter (Jaymie's son).

The afternoon and night was amazing. I have never seen a more beautiful bride. Here are more pictures from the wedding.

"Noggins"

Emmry has come up with the best game and she came up with it on her own. Whenever she is sitting in mine or Todd's lap, she will kind of just look at us like she almost wants to just hug us, instead she just puts her forhead on our forhead and rubs hers with ours. (Almost like escamo kisses but not with the nose; with the forhead.) Todd has now called this game "Noggins" and Emmry knows exactly what that means. All we have to do is just say it, and she does it. It totally cracks me up and I absolutely love it!

She also knows exactly how to get what she wants and boy she is little miss attitude. I can't believe how much she acts just like her father!!! =) (Secretly, she is just like her mommy but don't repeat that I said that. I'll never admit it either.)

Our First Mother's Day

I have never wanted to be a mom and that is the complete truth. Sadly, I just didn't think I had enough patients or skill to be a mother. I didn't want to be responsible for anyone human being. But boy... I can admit I was way beyond wrong.

I am used to getting Mother's Day cards with little puppy paws on them (from Abby and Sammy) but this year, I had the most precious card from the most precious little girl. Mother's Day is officially my favorite holiday; it's like having two birthdays in one year. Emmry and Todd bought me two charms to go onto my Pandora bracelet; Emmry's charm is a dangle with a black bead one the end and Todd's charm is called "For Get Me Knot". I love it.

But my best gift of all was... We were getting ready for church this morning and Emmry was in our bedroom playing on the floor. When I turned to check on her, I couldn't believe my own eyes... there she was.... C-R-A-W-L-I-N-G! Crawling finally!! She took about 6 or 7 crawls and then fell but I think my heart skipped a beat!I am so proud to have the gift of being a mother, especially to Emmry. I could not ask for a more messy, wiggly, goofy, smart, giggly, big blue-eyed baby girl. She is just perfect.
P.S. I can't wait for her to go to school and bring me home Mother's Day gifts that she made for me! I look forward to that so so so much! Happy Mother's Day to everyone.

Friends + Babies = Throw Up?

I love getting surpirse phone calls. You know, the kind where you are hoping to just hear from them soon and BAM... they call out of no where. I also love surprise visits too! Yesterday, I was blessed with... BOTH! :) Emmry, Todd and I were waiting arms open to see Alyssa, Justin and that sweet baby Makenna!Oh, Makenna had gotten so big (even though she only was a little of 10 pounds and she is nearly 4 months old!) She was still bigger than the last time I saw her; more filled out I would say! But oh so precious! She is so strong too; stands up, holds her head up perfectly, and smiles like the best of them. Her cry is so pitiful, and Alyssa knows it too! =)
Pour Alyssa went from holding a 10 pound baby to a 21 pound monster; A.K.A. Emmry! Emm didn't really know what to think. She did play with her but I think she was mostly wondering, "Umm... who are you with all that hair"? Yes, Makenna has a ton of hair. I am jealous!
We brought the camera out and started taking a few pictures! Todd had the camera and right we he snapped the first shot, Emmry threw up on Alyssa! And yes, my wonderful hubby got that shot! Check it out:Ha! Pour, pour, pour Alyssa. Notice the whole picture: Me: I haven't even caught on to what happened, Emmry: YUCK!, Alyssa: YUCK!, and Makenna: "Mom, what's that on your hand and leg"? All in all, it was a great couple of hours! I am so blessed to have them in my life and I am so happy our daughter's will get to grow up together!

A Weekend... With...

I spoke too soon. I ruined it. All because I blogged that Emmry and I were going to have our first night without Daddy, the rain came, games got canceled, and Daddy came home! Todd got home around 3:00 in the afternoon and we let him rest on the couch because we knew he was tired. Emmry and I went to her big sister, Bre's house. And we helped unpack bridal shower gifts. Daddy eventually met up with us at Target.

Sunday morning, Todd got a phone call at 5:30am saying that the games for Sunday were also canceled due to the weather! Daddy was NOT a happy camper! Needless to say, Sunday was our lazy day. I took pictures of Jaymie at her final dress fitting for the wedding and Todd and Emmry stayed at home. We ate early with Paw Paw and Nana-Gayle, took a bath real early and climbed into bed early! What a "not planned" weekend!

A Weekend Without...

Daddy? Yes... It is our first weekend without Daddy and so far, I am doing pretty good. Although, he did only leave about 5 hours ago. Todd has a baseball tournament in Elijay, 15 games total. He had to leave the house ths morning at 5:30 and won't be back until Sunday night! This will be our first "night" without him. I am kinda nervous. Okay, I am lying. I am REALLY terrified. I have never spent the night away from him, let alone by myself! I will probably be wide wake all night long. I hate being in the dark. Hate it. This should be very interesting!
