Our First Father's Day

I can truly say our daughter is 100% a daddy's girl and we are so blessed to have him in ours lives. He is the most remarkable and loving man that has ever set foot in my life and without him, I'd be lost. Todd is always there even without being asked. He takes such wonderful care of Emmry and he is such a wonderful father to her.
(They feel asleep... together... just like this!)

We spent our Father's day at the lake at my dad's house. This was Emmry's first "swim" in the lake and though I was a little nervous... She LOVED it. (Our camera battery was dead... that's why there aren't any pictures.) After the lake, we spent the remainder of the afternoon in the pool. Emmry was so relaxed. Then we of course had dinner with the whole family at Mexican... our favorite!

It was a GREAT 1st Father's Day and we look forward to many, many, many more!!This is too precious, I just had to take the picture! Priceless!

Happy Birthday to Daddy

(This picture was taken this morning at 8:00 am)

Yeap, today is Todd's birthday and his first birthday with Miss Emmry. Yesterday, Emmry and I went shopping for Todd's surprise cookout. We did everything together from getting the food to picking out the cake. She is the BEST buggie-rider. She loves it; smiling as I stroll her up and down the aisles. Sometimes she squeals with excitement.

We celebrated Todd's birthday yesterday because there were a few people who couldn't make it for his actual birthday. Todd had no idea. We drove around the corner to Todd's parents' house and there were a bunch of cars. Todd's eyes lit up and he realized what I had done for him. His party was filled with lots of family; Bill, Gayle, Jeff, Kim, Breanna, Eric, Chase, Alyssa, Me and Emmry. We cooked out, pigged out, ate very delicious cake and watched the Braves game on TV.

Since today was Todd's actual birthday, we just relaxed. Todd cut his parents' grass and then we went out to dinner to Steak-N-Steak. All in all and even though Todd HATES birthdays... it was a good TWO days and a good birthday!

A Long, Very Long Night

I never thought I would be able to feel someone else's pain and wish it was me, and not them. That was until last night. Emmry was sick... very sick and it was the sick of not eating, not drinking, screaming at the top of her lungs because her belly was hurting so bad. I noticed yesterday morning that she was acting a little different but I just let her do as she wanted. I watched and waited. She seemed fine throughout the morning and afternoon until around 5:00. Emmry was just crying and I couldn't get her to quit. I gave her Tylenol, hoping that would ease some of the pain. By about 11:30pm, she had started the crying again. This time, we couldn't get her to stop at all. She would be in a dead sleep and then scream. Around 2:30am we decided to take her to the Emergency Room. The doctor assumed she had a urinary track infection but Todd nor I was comfortable letting them put a catheter in our nearly ten month old daughter. So, they gave her some Motrin and within 10 minutes she was out. Emmry finally went to bed around 4:00 this morning. But woke up after only a short five hours of sleep.

Todd fed her a bottle and I called the doctor to make an appointment. Dr. Collier said Emmry was constipated, gave us a prescription and we were off. She is now on liquids only for the next 24 hours and probably won't start being herself until the next 48 hours. Let me say this; I wish it was me and not her. I have felt so horrible for her. I can only hold her as close as I can and tell her I love her and that everything is going to be okay... "Mommy and Daddy will fix it baby", that's what I usually say to her.

Now, we just wait and pray that this medicine works. We just want our little girl well. We want our happy, smiling, big blue-eyed baby back.
